Floral With a Vintage Flair!

Hello lovelies,

This post is extremely late this week due to bad weather and recovery from a weekend-long retreat I attended. I have been fortunate enough to be included on the Catholic Youth Leadership Team for my diocese and got to spend the entire year working with who are now some of my closest friends to plan the Annual Catholic Youth Convention. It was such a blessed experience and I hope I can do it again next year.

But I digress. I was so excited to learn that this week's trend was floral because I had just received a vintage dress that my grandmother wore from my mom and I am absolutely in love with it! I have a huge crush on vintage-style clothing, especially from the 1940s-50s era.

This outfit is great for a busy summer day when you have tons of fun to get to, but you slept in! If your dress is a wrap one like mine, it's super quick to get into. All you need to do next is pop on some cute sandals, a pair of earrings, and you're ready to take on the world! For makeup I just did the basics: Foundation, Mascara, lip gloss and blush, but you could definitely play around with a bright red lip and a cat-eye for an extra retro feel. The messy bun is quick and a bit of a modern touch, but if you really want to go all out, you can add a headscarf and maybe even some curls!

I hope you all didn't mind the wait too much, I apologize again, hopefully my next post will be on schedule!

Love you,

Bridget

Peach and Sage

Is it pastel season again already?! Gosh, time sure does fly....

Anyway, for my outfit I decided to go with a linen pastel peach-y button down; (maybe it's more coral? I don't know, it looks different every time I think I've figured it out) Some brown leather slip-on sandals; and a sage, brown, and cream vine patterned skirt.

Pastels-sitting

Aaaaand I went with gold accessories. Because of the warmth of the (Peach? Coral?) top and the brown in my skirt and shoes.

Ta-da! It all matches.

An-nyway, I really like the (I'm just gonna say that the top's peach, for the sake of speed) peach with the sage and browns, Of course, I love wearing green and peach anyway, so I'm a little biased.

Well, once again, a few of these are O. U. O.'s, but I'll do my best. Just for you guys. You're welcome. ;)

Button-down: I got it a few years ago from a friend, so no, I don't know where you can get it. ~ Skirt: Made it with McCall's M670 and fabric from Hancock.~ Shoes: Yeah, these are the ones I don't know about, I got them clearanced somewhere, so you probably couldn't get 'em anymore anyways.

Well, I guess that's all folks! Y'all have a great Easter!!! :)

Trend Introduction: Sweaters

Sweaters

When I think of sweaters, I think of all of the above. ^ I love sweaters! If I had more, I would wear them almost every day! They are super stylish and can be dressed up or down. I usually wear my sweaters by themselves with just a couple pieces of jewelry. Sometimes I'll add a cowl or scarf.

How do you wear your sweaters? I'd love to know! Please leave a comment telling us about it.

Green Date ~ Mercy

Hello Lovelies! I hope you all had a fantastic St. Patrick's Day!
For this outfit, I decided to go with something I would only wear on a date. (I've got no boyfriend, so I've got nowhere to wear this outfit to.)
But I had fun dressing up that way anyway!
So one of my fashion rules is, when you wear something fitted, you have to wear something loose, too. It controls whether you look like a bag or your clothes are about to rip. (Trust me, this rule is important!) I wore my skinny jeans, so I put on a green top that was flowy to give the right proportions.

Trend Introduction: Green

So, since Saint Patrick's Day is coming up, our next trend is green!

My job, as the trend introducer, was to make a board on Polyvore for the trend. Sounds easy, right?

Well, it was. Too easy; I went to find green pieces I wanted to incorporate, and ended up finding three that I just couldn't decide between! So, here ya go; it's like a triple-stuffed Oreo, only it's a blog post! ;)

Trend Introduction: Maxi Skirt

Hello readers!! This week's trend is Maxi Skirts, and Hannah, Mercy, and Bridget will all be posting ootds with, you guessed it, their take on the maxi skirt trend. ;) So, since I obviously can't put a maxi skirt on my nails, I decided to do nails inspired by this lovely outfit by armband on Polyvore.

Long skirt!

I actually saw the skirt awhile back and knew I'd have to do nails inspired by it sometime!! I sort of used this technique by Chalkboard Nails, varying the amount of polish on the brush to get the look that I wanted.

I started with Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Hardener, and used Zoya Purity as my base color. Then I dragged on Julep Eloise, Sally Hansen Please Sea Me, and a bit more of Purity to make it look right. For my thumb, pointer finger, and pinkie, I applied three coats of Please Sea Me, and while the last one was still wet I added the gold studs (which I think I got on Amazon). I topped everything with HK Girl Top Coat by Glisten and Glow.

In other news, I got my wisdom teeth out last week!! I never thought I'd say this, but I am so sick of mashed potatoes lol. And Hydrocodone completely knocks me out, so when I haven't been in pain, I've been sleeping. Fortunately, I'm now able to chew soft-ish foods!!! Hooray!! =D Anyway, thanks for reading, comment and let me know how your week has been!
