Floral With a Vintage Flair!

Hello lovelies,

This post is extremely late this week due to bad weather and recovery from a weekend-long retreat I attended. I have been fortunate enough to be included on the Catholic Youth Leadership Team for my diocese and got to spend the entire year working with who are now some of my closest friends to plan the Annual Catholic Youth Convention. It was such a blessed experience and I hope I can do it again next year.

But I digress. I was so excited to learn that this week's trend was floral because I had just received a vintage dress that my grandmother wore from my mom and I am absolutely in love with it! I have a huge crush on vintage-style clothing, especially from the 1940s-50s era.

This outfit is great for a busy summer day when you have tons of fun to get to, but you slept in! If your dress is a wrap one like mine, it's super quick to get into. All you need to do next is pop on some cute sandals, a pair of earrings, and you're ready to take on the world! For makeup I just did the basics: Foundation, Mascara, lip gloss and blush, but you could definitely play around with a bright red lip and a cat-eye for an extra retro feel. The messy bun is quick and a bit of a modern touch, but if you really want to go all out, you can add a headscarf and maybe even some curls!

I hope you all didn't mind the wait too much, I apologize again, hopefully my next post will be on schedule!

Love you,

Bridget

Floral Trend Introduction - Vintage Rose Wallpaper Nail Art

Hey everyone!! This week's trend is floral, so I figured I'd post a rose manicure I did a few weeks back.

I started with Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Nail Hardener, then applied two coats of Zoya Purity to my pointer and middle fingers. I used striping tape and Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet for the stripes, and acrylic paint for the roses and topped with HK Girl Top Coat. I love how vintage-y they look!! I then applied two coats of JulieG Gift of Gold, a sparkly antique gold texture, to my other fingers.

Anyway, thanks for looking!! Have a great weekend!

Pastel Tribal Nail Art

Hey everyone!! So I did this pastel tribal mani (inspired by Jaunty Juli on YouTube) for the nail art challenge I'm doing and knew it would be perfect for this week's trend; pastels. (By the way, if you want to see more of my challenge manis, my Instagram is right here!)

I started with Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Nail Hardener, applied two coats of Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac, and used a fan brush to drag on an unnamed greenish Color Club, Sally Hansen Brisk Blue, and some acrylic paints. I then used a small brush, a dotting tool, and white acrylic paint for the tribal design and topped everything with Glisten and Glow HK Girl Top Coat.

Thanks for looking! Have a wonderful Easter!! =)

Trend Introduction: Pastels for Easter

Hello everyone!

Spring has sprung here in Maine with temperatures hovering around fifty degrees.  Lots of sunshine and experimenting with my warmer weather clothes, all of which must mean Easter is getting close! Only eleven days left. Easter is one of my favorite holidays and one part that I enjoy is getting all dressed up for mass and I imagine you all like that part too. Mercy, Hannah, Brooke and I will be here all the time leading up to the special day with outfit and beauty ideas to get you inspired and ready to celebrate the rising of Christ.

I've put together some various outfits on Polyvore to give you all plenty of ideas. Here you go:

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter,

Purple Argyle Nails

Hey everyone!

So I decided to do these Argyle nails since this week's trend is sweaters. Also, I knew they would work for Day 26 of the 31 day nail art challenge I'm doing on Instagram. (Btw, if you want to see more of my challenge pics and nail art, it's all right here!)

I freehanded these with a small brush, and I know they're not amazing, but I wasn't aiming for perfection. ;) The purple is an unnamed polish from Physician's Formula, the black and white are both acrylic paints, and the grey is a franken that I mixed using black, white, and a little purple. (I didn't have any greys that were quite what I wanted so I made my own!) The studs I got online, and I used Glisten and Glow HK Girl Top Coat to top everything off.

Thanks for looking!! Have a great day! =)

Saint Patrick's Day Stamping and Glitter Placement

Hello! Happy St. Patrick's Day, early! ;)

So, I was pretty stumped last night trying to figure out what to do for my St. Paddy's Day nails (I'm not super into green) so I ended up kinda wimping out and going with a light green base, darker green stamping, and a green hand-placed glitter accent nail. Lots of green!!!

I started, as always, with Sally Hansen Hard as Nails nail Hardener. On all but my ring finger, I applied three coats of Sally Hansen Green With Envy and let them dry. I then stamped the shamrock design from Pueen 40 with Soo s183 (it doesn't have a name, only a number) and topped with Glisten and Glow HK Girl top coat. On my ring finger, I applied one coat of BSquared Lacquer Change the Game (it was an almost perfect match for my glequins!), and used a regular, cheap, slow-drying top coat to stick the glequins on one by one, then topped with two coats of Just Ricarda Glossy Glam top coat and one of HK Girl.

Thanks for looking! Have a great St. Patricks Day, and don't get pinched. ;)
