Lace and My Golden

Hello Lovelies!

So somehow, I missed the first day of summer was yesterday. Oh well. At least I know it feels like summer. ;-)

I bought this top from Francesca's last September and I absolutely love it! It has a lace panel on the front and back. I paired it with a white camisole and navy shorts for a red, white, and blue look.

Also, my Golden Retriever, Cassie, decided to make an appearance for this blog post. She's the sweetest thing and I love her so much!

Craving Lemonade

Hi all!

The outfit I designed on Polyvore for this week's post has me itching for a tall glass of lemonade, and I think you'll see why.

I'm super in love with the current trend of skater style skirts and dresses. I think the comfy, swirly, casual look is just so fun and has a bit of a retro vibe that sings to my vintage soul. And to me, summer is all about bright, fun colors. It's the best season to wear them, so why not do so at every chance you get? I absolutely adore the bright, bubblegum pink of this skirt.

Another great thing about this outfit is that it can be so simple, but it looks put-together and fresh. Just a cute top and a skirt, and you're ready to go! Of course, you can rock some glittery jewelry and a fierce cat-eye to play it up. The choices are endless!

Hope you all are ready to have an amazing summer!

Love,

Bridget

Coral Sandals and Grungy Shorts

Hey there everybody!!
So..... some exciting news, my baby sister is one week old today!!
If anyone's wondering: Yes, she's super-cute! Also super-chubby, and kind of red, and apparently she's my mini-me, and her name is Lylah.
Okay, I'm done.

Anyway, here's my outfit for today. I wanted to wear my kind-of-grungy shorts, so I grabbed a flowy, loose, striped tank, some cute coral sandals of Brooke's, and finished it off with gold rings and earrings!

(Funny story for this next pic: My mom and I went into her studio to take the pics, and she went, "Hmmm, what should we do for these.... I think that stool may be too tall..." So, as a joke, I did the whole model squat-and-fake-laugh pose, and she went, "Yeah! Stay there..."
So I had to sit like that for like, five minutes stright. But hey, at least my thigh muscles look really good.  :P)

And if you just read this entire post, I'd like to reward you by saying that I have no idea where you can get any of these clothes, so I'm not even going to bother this time....
Also, I think it'd be nice to tell you about a song that I'm currently in love with, which is this cover of Imagine Dragons' Demons done by Anthem Lights. (Hypothetical demons, it's not actually demonic/satanic...) Also, if you haven't seen the original music video, I highly recommend you watch it as well.
A-ma-zing
Well, see y'all in a couple of weeks!

For those Summer Days that Don't Feel Like Summer

Hello everyone!

So, the past week here in Maine has been less than summer-like, but I refuse to go back to long-sleeved shirts and rain coats, and prefer to thumb my nose at the elements by layering warm weather pieces on top of each other.
Sandals: BCBGeneration ; Top: One Step Up; Shorts: Lee; Cardigan: Target

This outfit is fairly simple, and can be dressed up or down with makeup, shoes and accessories. It would be great for those July days when it's just too hot to wear pants or a maxi skirt to church.

Here's hoping the weather is better where you are, and for sunnier days to come,

Bridget

Nautical Stripes

Hello lovelies!
I recently bought this dress and I love it! I don't have any nautical jewelry, so I just put on some of my delicate gold jewelry. I love that you can give this dress a casual or sporty look, depending on what you wear with it. Plan on seeing this dress again, maybe with some sneakers next time!

Geek Chic

I got new glasses!
The big trend in glasses right now is Geek Chic, which totally describes me! I was so happy when I could get new frames and lenses. And they're Ray Bans!
Enjoy my Geek Chic outfit!

Rushing Out the Door

Hi everyone! Today's outfit is ridiculously simple, because I may or may not have forgotten that I was supposed to post today. But it worked really well for today's activities, which included going shopping with my amazing mom and my older brother for a dress to wear to my upcoming homeschool prom. I love going places with my mom, even if it's just a trip to the grocery store, because, in a family of six kids, spending  time with her is a rare treat. I love being able to talk to her and be girly in a way I can't around my brothers. We had a great time trying on tons of dresses and eventually finding the perfect one. I can't wait to share pics from the prom with you all!

This outfit is so easy and comfortable, especially now that the days are warming up. This is why I love dresses so much. Just pop one on, add a cute pair of shoes, and you're ready. To take it from daytime to a cute dinner date, add a pair of earrings, some eyeshadow, a swipe of lipstick, and off you go!

I really hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day. I am so grateful for my mother and all she has done for me. All the love, the laughs, the hugs and the lessons. I can never thank her enough. I love you so much Mums, Bridget

April Flowers

Okay, so it's May. Fine: May Flowers. Doesn't really have the same ring, does it?

And hey, these pictures were taken in April, so it's not really that much of a stretch....

Anyway, back to the fashion.

floral-2[1]

I wore a slightly-altered flowy floral tank, (It originally had elastic sewn into the hem. Blegh.) a pair of denim crops, some really cute white wedges, and then pink jewelry, because the flowers on my top were pink and I was just feeling kind of.... pink.

floral-5[1]

Pro tip: If your dresses/skirts/crops/shorts hit at the widest part of either your calves or thighs, it isn't flattering.

So there, now you can wear clothes like a pro!! :P

And everyone will think your legs look long and slim. Which is always a plus.

It isn't too late for me to gush about the shoes again, is it? Because they are adorable.

They're actually Brooke's, but since she only does nail posts, this was the only way they were getting on the blog.

And they really needed to be on the blog.

*Whispers*: The flowerssssss....

floral-3[1]

Anyway, once again, some of the stuff was bought on clearance or gifted, so we'll just do our best here.

Top: Ross - Wedges: Shoe Carnival

Aaaaand everything else is a mystery.

Oh!! Wait!!! Except for the necklace, I got that at Six Flags like, ten years ago...

Well, this is Hannah, signing off. I'll see (Post to? Make contact with?) y'all later!

Floral With a Vintage Flair!

Hello lovelies,

This post is extremely late this week due to bad weather and recovery from a weekend-long retreat I attended. I have been fortunate enough to be included on the Catholic Youth Leadership Team for my diocese and got to spend the entire year working with who are now some of my closest friends to plan the Annual Catholic Youth Convention. It was such a blessed experience and I hope I can do it again next year.

But I digress. I was so excited to learn that this week's trend was floral because I had just received a vintage dress that my grandmother wore from my mom and I am absolutely in love with it! I have a huge crush on vintage-style clothing, especially from the 1940s-50s era.

This outfit is great for a busy summer day when you have tons of fun to get to, but you slept in! If your dress is a wrap one like mine, it's super quick to get into. All you need to do next is pop on some cute sandals, a pair of earrings, and you're ready to take on the world! For makeup I just did the basics: Foundation, Mascara, lip gloss and blush, but you could definitely play around with a bright red lip and a cat-eye for an extra retro feel. The messy bun is quick and a bit of a modern touch, but if you really want to go all out, you can add a headscarf and maybe even some curls!

I hope you all didn't mind the wait too much, I apologize again, hopefully my next post will be on schedule!

Love you,

Bridget

Peach and Sage

Is it pastel season again already?! Gosh, time sure does fly....

Anyway, for my outfit I decided to go with a linen pastel peach-y button down; (maybe it's more coral? I don't know, it looks different every time I think I've figured it out) Some brown leather slip-on sandals; and a sage, brown, and cream vine patterned skirt.

Pastels-sitting

Aaaaand I went with gold accessories. Because of the warmth of the (Peach? Coral?) top and the brown in my skirt and shoes.

Ta-da! It all matches.

pastels-bow

An-nyway, I really like the (I'm just gonna say that the top's peach, for the sake of speed) peach with the sage and browns, Of course, I love wearing green and peach anyway, so I'm a little biased.

pastels-standing

Well, once again, a few of these are O. U. O.'s, but I'll do my best. Just for you guys. You're welcome. ;)

Button-down: I got it a few years ago from a friend, so no, I don't know where you can get it. ~ Skirt: Made it with McCall's M670 and fabric from Hancock.~ Shoes: Yeah, these are the ones I don't know about, I got them clearanced somewhere, so you probably couldn't get 'em anymore anyways.

Well, I guess that's all folks! Y'all have a great Easter!!! :)

Maxi Skirt: A Splash of Silver

Hello everyone! ;)

Well; when I went to download the pictures for my post, I found that my mother had named them "A splash of silver," and thought it was too good of an alliteration to pass up. (Also; I couldn't think of another title, so, y'know, thanks mom... )

maxi skirt

The weather in West Texas has been.... unreliable for the past few weeks, going from 80°F to 34°F in the space of a day or two, but I decided to go with a springier outfit because, really, it's March. March is spring here.

maxi skirt detail

Anyway; I wore a graphic Paris top layered under a sheer-ish teal/mint short-sleeved button down, and silver shoes and clutch to coordinate with my grey skirt. Plus a cursive "Love" necklace because I'm wearing a Paris shirt and, well, what else was I supposed to do?

maxi skirt

Once again, I don't remember where I got all of my pieces, but I'll give it a shot. Just for you. You're welcome. ;)

-Paris Top: Ross  -Grey Maxi skirt: Also Ross   -Silver Wedge Sandals: Target (This was a couple of years ago, so they're probably discontinued.)  -Silver Clutch: Target; I got it clearanced at the same time I got the sandals, so I'm 97% sure you can't get it anymore.  -Button Down and Jewelry: Once again, these originated somewhere outside of the dusty borders of my memory, although the necklace was borrowed from Brooke, (my sister) and I think she got it somewhere online.(I know; that sure helps, doesn't it.)

Well, now that I've exhausted my blogging powers for the day, I really should sign off.  Adieu! (You know, because of the shirt! *Looks at you intently to make sure you got it*)
